The furious Belfast audience member branded the extension of the Brexit negotiations a form of "blackmail" on Britain as he demanded the British Government remains on track to quit the European Union on March 29. Theresa May on Thursday agreed with Brussels to delay Brexit until May 22 if MPs vote in favour of her withdrawal deal next week – or until April 12 if Parliament votes the agreement down. Addressing Defence minister Tobias Ellwood, the Northern Irish man said: "I do agree that this deadline, that deal isn’t put through, is blackmail on the UK.
"But the thing about it is, we voted to leave the EU. We voted to leave the customs union, the single market, voted to leave the jurisdiction of European Courts.
"Parliament has had over two years to find a way, to find a deal together. The time is up on Friday 29."
He added: "We should just leave, no deal."
Mr Ellwood dismissed the demand, pointing out the Government had made sure there would be no no deal Brexit scenario: "I don’t think that’s going to come up. We’ve made it really, really clear that the damage that it would do.
