US Army General Robert Abrams has raised concerns over Pyongyang’s military capabilities after he cited North Korea’s actions were “inconsistent” with its pledge to work towards denuclearisation. Kim Jong-un had promised US President Donald Trump during the pairs first historical meeting in June 2018 that the country would work towards the removal of its chemical weapons. However following the two world leaders meeting last month, talks broke down which has heightened tensions between the world superpowers.
Chairman Kim had demanded substantial relief from international sanctions in return for not engaging in nuclear and missile tests.
General Abrams said: “Their activity that we have observed is inconsistent with denuclearisation.”
Mr Trump has stressed he enjoyed a good personal relationship with Chairman Kim during the summit in Vietnam.

However General Abraham has also expressed doubts over Washington’s ability to continue to monitor North Korea’s activities if relationships
