European Research Group (ERG) leader Jacob Rees-Mogg commended Theresa May for her bravery as Prime Minister during Brexit negotiations. The Leave supporter also remained tight-lipped about who he would be supporting and noted that it would be a discussion for later days. However, after some prodding, the ERG leader may have hinted that he would be supporting the former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
When asked by Sky New’s Beth Rigby who he wanted to support Mr Rees-Mogg said: “I’m not going to answer that today.
“I think today is a day for thanking Theresa May and celebrating what she has done.
“Also to admire her dignity and courage in departing and not thinking about the next step.
“I think the next step is for tomorrow and the days afterwards."
