The police in the sleepy seaside town of Morecambe got all hands on deck to delve deep into the details around the disappearance of two teenagers on the ITV drama. Sergeant Lisa Armstrong (played by Morven Christie) is the officer helming the case under her boss, and has incredibly deep ties to it. A mother herself, Lisa struggles to separate herself from the investigation, and what’s worse, she is gradually shown to be absent more often than not when it comes to her own children. The Sergeant comes up against a myriad of shady suspects, but with every direction the show turned during tonight’s instalment, fans were convinced they already knew the truth. While Nick continually responds “no comment” to the police officers’ line of questioning, viewers were more drawn to the influence his mother appeared to have over him. Taking to Twitter, one viewer then thought they’d cracked it, guessing Nick was helping one of the teenagers after a disastrous mistake. “Sister killed brother and that fella the police arrested is now helping her. #TheBay,” they declared.
