Has #TheWalkingDead's mystery radio voice been revealed?

The Walking Dead viewers were still reeling from the horrific events that occurred last week.

The final moments of season nine’s penultimate episode saw Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) finding the decapitated heads of a number of their comrades on spikes.

The dirty work of Whisperers leader Alpha (Samantha Morton) had a huge effect on the characters - but they didn’t have much time to mourn as this weekend’s episode The Storm pitted the community against the elements.

But the final scenes of the episode left viewers with a huge amount of confusion and anticipation as Ezekiel (Khary Payton) was seen contacting Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming) on the radio.

However when their conversing was over, the radio was left alone. But the camera lingered on the device for another few seconds.

In a scene fans of the franchise have been expecting for a number of seasons, the radio then started up once again and produced an unknown voice.

The unclear transmission seemed to say “is anyone there?” before the episode ended.

It has not been revealed who the voice was quite yet, but fans have jumped to believe it was former The Walking Dead star Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan).

Maggie mysteriously disappeared in the episode following Rick Grimes’ (Andrew Lincoln) controversial ending.

Although she has been mentioned since the exit, last night’s episode saw the team reminisce about her once again, casually mentioning she has not been returning their calls since the deaths of Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Jesus (Tom Payne).

Fans on The Walking Dead Reddit have begun suggesting the return of Maggie could be imminent as they assume the the voice was hers.
