BBC Breakfast: Jeremy Bowen announced his diagnosis this morning (Image: BBC) Former BBC Breakfast presenter Jeremy Bowen arrived to discuss bowl cancer screenings and open up about his own experience on the show this morning. The discussion followed his announcement that he was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October, 2018. Speaking to Dan Walker and Louise Minchin he explained: “I had funny pains in my legs and my back, had to go to hospital for a few days but they didn't say it was cancer - they said it was scar tissue from a previous operation.” “I had no symptoms, no classic bowel cancer symptoms - but I thought I should get a test,” he continued. “It came back positive.” Related articles Louise Minchin: Dan Walker's co-host reveals BBC Breakfast secret Dan Walker: Louise Minchin speaks out on 'trouble' with BBC co-star. Jeremy went on to explain he then had a colonoscopy, and then talked about how the procedure is conducted. “It’s not nearly as bad as it sounds,” he went on. “From that they found a tumour. “I had an operation to take it away and now I'm having chemotherapy.” Discussing the process of his diagnosis, Jeremy went into detail about what had happened during his process. On his diagnosis, however, he added: “It could have been a bit earlier - but had it been much later it would have been much worse. “The key thing is to get tested, I've told all my friends to get to their doctors for a test.
