Rachel Riley took to both Twitter and Instagram yesterday to share a cute snap of her mum on Mother’s Day. The presenter’s parent was pictured on the set of Countdown, which she joined a decade ago when she took over from Carol Vorderman. The 33-year-old was seen in the cheeky selfie while her mum perched in front of the famous Channel 4 board. Instead of being sat in her usual spot on the left-hand side of the prop, she was in front and it was her mum who had replaced her.

Rachel told her 600,000 plus followers on both sites: “Happy #MothersDay to all the mummas out there!”
The small screen favourite continued: “Including this one who first made me apply for Countdown - everything that’s followed is all her fault.”
She signed off with: “Love you Mum!” as well as a number of sweet emojis.
Rachel’s mum was seen on a high stool while talking into a walker talkie and seemingly oblivious to being pictured.
