Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden confirmed they were pregnant back in February, and now Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle has spoken about her alter ego’s temporary exit. The actress, who has starred in the long-running ITV drama since 2002, has said she might not be off screen for long. The 31-year-old told fans she didn’t think the moment her character departs the Dales will be “too dramatic”. She said she was yet to be informed of how her storyline would play out but said she will be probably be “ready to go back” sooner rather than later.

Speaking to OK! Magazine in a joint interview, when asked if they both still love being a part of Emmerdale, both Charley and Matthew left everyone in no doubt they did.
The David Metcalfe actor started: “I absolutely adore working there and I love the people I work with.
“I love getting up every morning and getting into work!”
Charley commented: “I do, too. I don’t know what they’ve got planned for Debbie’s exit, but I don’t think it’ll be too dramatic!
“I’m not sure I’ll have that long off work. With three children, I’ll probably be ready to go back to work for a break!”
