Leah Bracknell, 54, has embarked on a new experimental treatment in her battle with stage 4 lung cancer. The ex-Emmerdale star, who played Zoe Tate from 1989-2005, is back in hospital to go through more stages of the clinical trial, which could delay the progression of her disease. After undergoing the first part of the process last summer, the actress found that her aggressive form of cancer had stabilised. Updating her 1,321 Instagram followers on her condition last month, the ITV soap favourite shared an image of a latex rubber glove puppet, formed into the shape of a rabbit.
Using the whimsical figure as a distraction from her painful injections, Leah captioned the post: “A Spring Equinox rabbit-geez.
“(It’s becoming a bit of a competition among the nurses on the trial!) aka an ice filled latex glove for pre jab numbing. Thank you C , this is one to beat!! xx.”
Ever since Leah was first diagnosed with her illness, she has been sharing her experiences with fans in her blog, Something beginning with C.
The actress turned to yoga teaching and meditation in order to cope with her tough cancer battle.
She also advocates positive thinking and healthy food during medical treatments.
In a recent post on her blog, Leah revealed that she was struggling to deal with the emotional toll of cancer.
