Barbara Windsor, 81, best known for her role as Peggy Mitchell in the BBC soap EastEnders, posed for pictures alongside Paul Whitehouse as she met the cast of The Only Fools and Horses the musical. She seemingly appeared in high spirits as she beamed for the camera on the theatre stage. It comes after the EastEnders legend went public with her Alzheimer’s disease battle last year, but she had actually been diagnosed four years prior. She also posed for photos alongside musical cast members Tom Bennett and Ryan Hutton.

The star attended the West End show in London with her husband Scott Mitchell, 56.

Barbara looked stylish as she sported a patterned silk blouse and pale blue trousers.

The actress’ rare outing come after her spouse, who has been married to her for 18 years, revealed she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease last year.

The Carry On legend’s husband previously spoke with Express.co.uk and revealed the struggles Dame Barbara has faced since battling the disease.

Scott said: "I can't leave Barbara by herself anymore.

“Life has changed drastically for her and of course that reflects on our whole life together. It's really been overwhelming.
