It all unfolded during a round on the BBC quiz where the contestants had to name characters in certain theatre shows, one of which was the Lion King. Pointless presenters Alexander and Richard then turned to discussing Sir Tim Rice who wrote the lyrics for the musical. “Our lovely friend, Tim Rice,” Alexander shared. Richard then replied: “Ahh Sir Tim. I call him Sir Tim because that’s his name.” Related articles Pointless contestant gobsmacked by Alexander's cheeky remark Pointless star Richard Osman makes surprise revelation about BBC show You’ve just upset the Queen and Sir Tim Rice Richard Osman He then continued to joke: “He’ll be watching this at home going ‘you didn’t call me Sir Tim Rice? What, the Queen is not good enough for you?’. “The Queen will also be watching at home just going ‘mate, I call him Sir Tim’. “So you’ve just upset the Queen and sir Tim Rice.” Alexander than gasped in mock-horror as he continued with the programme’s proceedings. While one contestant managed to get a right answer with Scar on the category, another player put a foot wrong. When it came to naming a character, Louise said Mustafa when the right answer was in fact Mufasa and so it couldn’t be accepted by Richard. One of their answers received just one point, however their other two weren’t correct and so they went home empty-handed. Meanwhile, yesterday’s instalment of the quiz show saw Monica left reeling after Alexander made a naughty remark. Player Monica revealed she was keen on poetry and Alexander said he hoped she would write a bawdy poem about her time on Pointless.
