‘Didn’t realise I had said that!’ #BBCbreakfast's Carol Kirkwood in EPIC gaffe

Carol Kirkwood, 56, has thanked a fan who corrected an error she made while fulfilling her presenting duties on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday’s show. The individual directly messaged the weather reporter on Twitter to inform her of her mistake and make note of what she intended to say. In a tweet, the person wrote: “Okay, yes Carol Kirkwood did say Sir Richard Attenborough, not Sir David Attenborough. “But she's on live telly. So I thought I’d help out by stealth-correcting.”

Responding to the Twitter user, Carol admitted she had not noticed the error and thanked the observer for making her aware of it.

“Yikes! Didn’t realise I had said that! Sorry! Thanks for correcting me.”

Insisting she did not need to apologise, the person replied: “Absolutely no need to apologise Carol Kirkwood.

“We tune in every morning to hear your forecast, and pay particular attention during the sailing season which starts this weekend for us!”

Carol was recently forced to clarify a term used in one of her other weather reports when host Dan Walker quizzed her on her speech.
