Meghan Markle has been banned from wearing royal jewellery by the Queen, according to reports.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, who married Prince Harry, 34, in May last year is not permitted to wear items from the royal collection, including iconic tiara which were once worn by Harry’s late mother Princess Diana.
Kate Middleton, 37, the wife of Prince William, 36, has worn these pieces, however.
The Queen is said to have assured William, the heir to the British Throne, that Meghan will not wear any pieces worn by his mother.

Sun journalist Dan Wootton discussed the story on ITV’s Lorraine today. He explained: “The Queen is in charge of the royal collection, a massive collection of all of the artefacts that the country and the Royal Family own.
“Included in that are some iconic prices of jewellery, many of which have been leant to Princess Diana.
“We’ve seen Kate wear certain items from the royal collection.
“The Queen has to give permission for any member of the Royal Family to wear any of these items of jewellery.”
And according to him, the Queen has decided not to extend this honour to the former-actress. He said: “The queen has actually banned Meghan from wearing any pieces of this jewellery and the Queen personally assured Prince William this includes any piece that was worn by Princess Diana.”
The journalist speculated that Meghan’s behaviour in the past is behind the decision made by the Queen.
“They weren’t happy with some of Meghan’s behaviour before and after the royal wedding,” Dan claimed, “The Queen is a stickler for some of the rules and traditions.”
And the drama has not been limited to Harry, William, his wife and the Queen. Prince Charles, 70, was called in by the Queen to deliver the news to Meghan - who is unlikely to have been thrilled by the decision.
