Brexit stunt: Demonstrators project SOS message on White Cliffs of Dover in ...

A series of images has been colourfully beamed onto the iconic landmark in the direction of Europe calling for an extension to Article 50 to be granted by Brussels as well as a People’s Vote on any withdrawal deal. Outspoken activist group Led By Donkeys was behind the stunt which saw a series of anti-Brexit videos transmitted onto the cliffs this afternoon. Among the messages on the huge 50mx75m projection included a singular golden star symbolising Britain’s membership with the bloc, alongside this it read: “This is our star. We’re fighting for it.”

The group behind several viral billboards also called for MPs to take notice of the change in public opinion since the 2016 referendum and highlighted there is now “2 million” more potential voters.

In a series of posts of the cliff which is located at the UK’s closest point to Europe, it said: “Democracy doesn’t stand still, right now this country want to remain 6million voted to revoke article 50.”

It added: “The politicians have failed, its time for a people’s vote.”

The Remainers also took aim at the former Brexit secretary Dominic Raab and beamed a particularly embarrassing quote from him about the importance of Dover for trade.
