The audience member pointed out that Mr Lammy and other Remainers want Leavers to “compromise” but won’t compromise on anything themselves. He told the former culture minister he thought the actions of MPs were “disgusting” and “shameful”. Mr Lammy replied, saying that believes a second referendum is a compromise itself.
The audience member said: “David, you say about compromise, in terms of a cross-party compromise.
“Well, I’m sorry but you’ve never ever compromised, you’ve always backed a second referendum.
"You’ve never been pro-Brexit and I’m sorry, but why should us Leaves have to compromise if, on your side, you’re not at all.
“And I think it’s disgusting really - I think you’re all shameful in Westminster.”
