#EthiopianAirlines downed by faulty sensor, @Boeing admits

A FAULTY sensor downed the Ethiopian Airlines jet, aircraft maker Boeing has admitted. All 157 people on board died when the aircraft crashed six minutes after taking off last month.

The pilots battled to overcome the computer system - designed to prevent the plane from stalling - which repeatedly forced the aircraft to nosedive.

A preliminary report from the Ethiopian Government said the pilots on the Boeing 737 Max 8 followed the recommended procedure but could not retake control of the plane.

It is a significant blow for Boeing as it struggles to get the model back in service.
