EastEnders favourite Jean Slater (played by Gillian Wright) has been coming to terms with her cancer storyline.
The BBC soap mum has ovarian cancer and according to the actress, the whole thing has been “upsetting”.
Speaking on EastEnders’ official Twitter page, Gillian reflected on her time filming the devastating storyline.
She said: “Emotionally, it’s been upsetting.
“I’ve got friends and family who are either going through or have gone through or haven’t succeeded and have died as a consequence of cancer.
“I think that’s why it’s such a nerve-wracking story to do because the majority of the people I know will either know somebody going through it or living with somebody going through it.
“It’s sadly, such a common disease now.”
Furthermore, it seems the storyline will develop and become even more emotional when Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) makes his anticipated return in the coming weeks.
