BBC One tonight (Sunday, April 7) will air the next episode of Line of Duty after 7.8 million people tuned in to the first episode last week. Line of Duty season 5 was filmed last year in Belfast in Northern Ireland. Line of Duty is set, meanwhile in an unnamed city in the Midlands.
The BBC confirmed to The Sun that Line of Duty is set in an “undefined British city.”
Previously, however, viewers have spotted maps in the background of some scenes of Line of Duty that suggest that AC-12 is located somewhere close to Birmingham.
At various times in the show, it has been said to be close to the M6 motorway and that roads like the A38 and A51 pass through it
In real life, this would put it in the West Midlands police district, though AC-12 work within a fictional force called Central Police.
