The brand new series continues the fan-favourite programme on Channel 4 with a host of celebrity recruits for the first time ever, and there has been some serious speculation over exactly how the Directing Staff will treat them.
But it seems the ex SAS soldiers made a concentrated decision to ensure viewers wouldn’t question the possibility, so much so Jason even joked he “picked on” Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson because he was acting so childish.
In an interview with Express.co.uk where he was asked if the team wanted to “break” the celebrities, Jason insisted: “For me, right ok, so yeah we didn’t pull any punches.
“I think we probably, no 100 per cent,” the star concluded, “we probably went a little bit harder with them.
“The opening scene is probably more than anyone’s done on any opening scene, quite daunting to be in a helicopter let alone full backwards out of it into some open water, given the height.
“So from the off it was as quick, there’s probably a little bit more of me smiling, because I thought it was funny that we were trying to break this lot.
“But in the grand scheme of things yeah we definitely went harder, because we didn’t want this sort of dumbed down, to be fair, just because there’s a lot of sceptics out there about this one.
“There’s people out there who are going to be going, this is celebrities, blah blah, and I know we’re not going to do that. We’re still going to keep its authenticity, I mean it’s the hardest show on TV isn’t it?”
