Chris Evans sounded off about Brexit during his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, insisting UK politicians should adopt a Japanese approach to negotiations with the European Union. Using the air time to praise Theresa May, the 53-year-old presenter argued the Prime Minister had put the country before the Conservative party. Breathing a sigh of relief, the DJ admitted he was really worried about the UK’s future before the Tory leader agreed to work with the opposition party. Singing May’s praises last Wedneasday, he began: “She has put the country before her party there is no question about that.
“I think thank God in a way because what was really worrying me was yesterday they said, ‘Passions were running high.
“‘Energy is low, tempers are frayed and patients is fragile’.”
The father-of-four went on to say the previous state of the Government was no way to run a country and suggested politicians needed to rest more.
“In Japan what they do with negotiation teams is if a company sends in a negotiation team with another company and then the negotiation goes on for longer than they thought they would, they send in a new negotiation team that’s had some sleep,” he stated.
“Because you know that if you’re in a relationship with a partner and one of you are tired, both of you are tired.”
