Richard Osman, 48, admitted to his 776,000 Twitter followers this week that he struggles to dress himself presentably. The Pointless star made the revelation after spotting an article from The Guardian on the subject of brown shoes. The opinion piece discussed whether the traditional footwear item should be considered to be a controversial choice when paired with suits in the city. Richard spoke out on the issue when he replied to a tweet from GQ columnist Justin Myers, who shared the article on the social media platform.
He jokingly commented: “I feel shamed by all articles about what one shouldn’t wear, because I’m very bad at it.”
The self-deprecating presenter then went on to suggest that his own personal sense of style would never fall under the “well-dressed” category.
Implying that stylists are involved in any positive outfit choices, he added: “If I’m ever well-dressed, it’s either by someone else, or by mistake.”
Luckily, menswear aficionado Justin was quick to reassure Richard his outlook on clothes was not as bad as he previously assumed.
The writer replied: “The older I get, the less of a toss I give about ‘rules'.”
Richard agreed with his statement, adding: “You gotta know ‘em to break ‘em. Great piece anyway!”
