For many Britons it will be a bitterly cold start to their morning commute as temperatures will fall to go above 4C with areas in the countryside falling to potentially as low as -4C. Due to those temperatures, there could be widespread frost across much of the UK although the late morning and afternoon conditions will improve. Despite the cold start to the day, as the afternoon approaches so will the sunshine, especially in the west where “it will be pleasant” although it will still be cold especially along the east coast of England.
Met Office Meteorologist Aidan McGivern warned that despite the improving conditions on Friday afternoon, throughout the day there will remain a “cold and brisk wind for many”.
Heading into the evening on Friday night, that cold temperature will intensify and as temperatures on Saturday morning will drop to around freezing.
Mr Givern said: “The wind will be much more brisk through Saturday and Sunday in comparison to the last few days.
“There will be widespread frost on Saturday
