An eBay user has managed to sell this £2 coin for £1,200. The piece, which has been in circulation, is very rare. One in around 700,000 coins - this is a genuinely rare coin. They said of the coin: “This is a 2£ Scottish flag commonwealth game coin which has been circulated.” (sic) Coin collecting website Change Checker reports the coin as a mintage of 771,750. The site gives the coin a ranking of 89, making it very scarce. It was issued in 2002, and was part of a four coin collection of pound coins.
