When the interview pointed out her urge to be open and honest with Neil came after her smooch with the comedian was already bound for the headlines, she conceded: “Well, yes.”

Despite the moment between Katya and Seann being splashed over the front pages, causing shockwaves in the usually clean-cut, family-friendly Strictly Come Dancing world, she and her husband six years told the publication they have moved on from the incident together.

“It was a shock,” Neil admitted “And we had to work it out between ourselves, to understand what had happened.

The dancer, who has worked on Strictly since 2016 but has never been paired up with a celebrity, said his initial reaction to finding out about Seann and Katya was to “stay calm”.

“I didn’t want to run around in a panic, because that’s not me,” he said. “I’m private. I’m also quite positive.

“I wanted to speak to Katya - we had to sort it out privately.
