Viewers have gradually watched Cersei (played by Lena Headey) go through a rollercoaster journey on Game of Thrones over the past seven seasons, and as series eight returned to HBO and Sky Atlantic, the acting ruler of Westeros seemed colder than ever.
Still toying with psychotic fighter Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek), Cersei’s calculated nature led to a devastating decision.
Despite all her morally questionable choices, the queen has also gained favour from her deep love for brother and lover Jaime Lannister (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) and her children.
Yet when the last of her troubled brood died and later Jaime refused to assist her dastardly plot to betray Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the battle against the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and his White Walkers, things changed.
And last night’s instalment may have proved Cersei has lost any last shred of humanity when she sent her adviser to deliver a message to Bronn (Jerome Flynn).
In what started off as an amusing scene - Bronn was set to engage in a bout of lovemaking with three different women at the same time - it quickly took a turn for the worse when the character learned he was being tasked with murdering all of Cersei’s remaining family members.
With Jaime and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) now fighting on the same side, a panicked Cersei was attempting to tie up her loose ends in a bid to gain ultimate power of the kingdoms.
But while many viewers were convinced Bronn could never go through with the heinous act - he has built up a solid rapport and friendship with
