Notre Dame FIRE: York Minster restoration Mason argues for TRADITIONAL rebuild

York Minster restoration master Mason John David argued a traditional rebuilding method should be employed when the restoration of Notre Damme begins. He added it would be a great opportunity for a craftsman to undertake the task of recreating the time period specific architecture. Mr David also defended the idea that after a restoration a building becomes completely different from the original and insisted that historic buildings and cathedrals go through an evolution in their lifetime.

While speaking on BBC’s Radio show World at One, he was asked by the host what he remembered on the night York Minster caught alight in 1984.
