Activists from Extinction Rebellion have been blockading roads and bridges across the city for the past two days. They are demanding the Government take more radical action to combat climate change. At least 290 protestors from the group have been arrested in London over the past two days.
In a statement posted on their website Extinction Rebellion said they would “nonviolently disrupt Tube services to highlight the emergency of ecology collapse.
“We sincerely apologise to all those who may suffer as a consequence of this disruption.
“In any other circumstances we would never dream of disruption the Tube but this is an emergency.”
It is unclear how many Tube lines the group plans to disrupt, or at what time.
