WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Game of Thrones season eight, episode one.

Jaime Lannister (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) arrived in Winterfell undetected, until he was spotted by Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in shocking scenes reminiscent of Game of Thrones season one, episode one.

The episode ended with Jaime and Bran staring at each other and teased a huge storyline to come between the pair in the HBO series. 

Now, Jaime actor Nikolaj has revealed what is going through his character’s mind as he sees the boy he pushed from a wall and paralysed in the first episode.

I’m sure he wants revenge. That’s what Jaime expects

He said: “First of all, I don’t think wheelchairs are a normal thing in Westeros. I think it’s like: ‘What the hell?’ and then, ‘Oh my god, that’s the kid.’ I think he knows Bran didn’t die, but he doesn’t expect to meet him.

“His mission changes once again. It goes from: ‘I know my brother Tyrion is there and I’m going to fight the good fight’ to ‘I’m in deep s**t now.’ Because this is the Lord of Winterfell that I tried to kill and I’m sure he wants revenge. That’s what Jaime expects.”

As Bran is the Three-Eyed Raven now, he will recollect Jaime pushing him from the wall and will likely be out for revenge.
