In his book, Diana: Her True Story, he had taped interviews with the princess where she told him about royal life. The book is said to be “the closest we will ever come to her autobiography”. During an interview, Diana revealed Charles had wished for Harry to be a girl.
Diana told Mr Morton: “I knew Harry was going to be a boy because I saw on the scan.
“Charles always wanted a girl. He wanted two children, and he wanted a girl. I knew Harry was a boy, and I didn’t tell him.
“His first comment was: ‘Oh God, it’s a boy,’
“The second comment: ‘And he’s even got red hair’.”
She went on to say Charles expressed being letdown again at Harry’s christening, telling Diana’s mother: "'We were so disappointed – we thought it would be a girl’.
