As uncertainty over Britain’s withdrawal from the EU rumbles on, it has emerged that even though the Bundestag approved 900 additional customs posts to prepare for Brexit, only 70 of them will be filled this year. The next jobs will be filled from 2021 onwards, according to German newspaper, The Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAS).
Oliver Luksic, transport policy spokesman for the Free Democratic Party, warned a no deal Brexit would be “drastic” for the German economy.
He said: "The federal government has known for nearly three years that Britain will leave the EU. For several months it has become clear that a hard Brexit can become reality.
