Mark Labbett made his debut in The Chase back in 2009, in the first series of the ITV show. Having made his debut as a Chaser, the 53-year-old became known as The Beast by fans. He is one of five Chasers in the UK show, starring alongside Anne Hegerty, Shaun Wallace, Paul Sinha, and Jenny Ryan. His success on the show has seen him go on to land a solo role as a Chaser on the US version of the programme, as well as being one of six regularly appearing in the Australian version of The Chase.
Born in Devon, Mark went on to university, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in mathematics from Exeter College, at the University of Oxford.
He began his career teaching in secondary schools, having obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in secondary education from the University of Exeter.
