The Democrat announced her decision after the full release of Robert Mueller's report. Although the findings from the report did not incriminate the President, Ms Ocasio-Cortez has concluded that the evidence is enough to impeach him. Following the release of the report, Ms Ocasio-Cortez said: "Mueller’s report is clear in pointing to Congress’ responsibility in investigating obstruction of justice by the President.
"It is our job as outlined in Article 1, Sec 2, Clause 5 of the US Constitution.
"As such, I’ll be signing onto Rashida Tlaib’s impeachment resolution. "
Ms Ocasio-Cortez comments come following attorney general, William Barr's controversial release of the redacted version of the Mueller report which has drawn widespread criticism from Democrats.
Although there was no clear collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian interference, Mueller's investigation led to the indictments of 34 people.
