Before that spell of sunshine arrives, however, there will be a brief chill for many this morning. The Met Office has warned that for many areas of the UK it will be a chilly start with temperatures in some areas hovering around 5C. In northern Scotland and coastal regions, temperatures will struggle to get above 7C but as Britons head towards the afternoon that brief cold spell will burn off and be replaced with blazing sunshine.
Met Office Meteorologist, Aidan McGivern, said: “Inland as we start off the day on Good Friday there will be pockets where temperatures are in the single or even low single figures.
“But the sunshine will soon warm those temperatures up as we go through the morning.
“There will be strong sunshine up and down the country.
