Game of Thrones fans were horrified when Catelyn (played by Michelle Fairley) was murdered at the Red Wedding.
However, despite seeing her throat slit, many fans believed that like in the George R.R Martin novels the series is based on, she would return as Lady Stoneheart.
While Lady Stoneheart has yet to make an appearance, one star of the show may have let slip Catelyn could return.
Speaking at the Radio Times and BFI Festival, Gendry star Joe Dempsie teased that sometimes characters are cut out of the show for long periods of time for a reason.
Referencing his character, who was rowing for a good three seasons, he hinted show runners D.B Weiss and David Benioff keep characters out of fans minds in the hope they are forgotten so they can return with a bang.
“They were kind of saying they wanted people to forget about him,” he said.
“And, I think what they underestimated and I think what everyone underestimated, because of the rich mythology that George R.R. Martin has created, this world in which there are family trees which go back thousands of years and political implications of certain relations are so crucial and it leads to endless theorising.
