It unfolded as MasterChef winner Tim Anderson appeared on the BBC show to cook recipes from his new cookbook, Tokyo Stories.
Today’s instalment of Saturday Kitchen was hosted by Donal Skehan who cooked alongside Tim.
Tim prepared some gyozas along with a ramen, but the use of instant noodles in the second dish left viewers feeling bemused.
One observed: “Just tuned into Saturday Kitchen. They're making pot noodles. Country is f****d. #SaturdayKitchen.”
