Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘hire maternity nurse’ ahead of imminent ...

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are understood to be keen to have at their side the help of the birthing “specialist” who will then “hand over to a nanny” after three months after the seventh-in-line to the throne is born. Sarajane Ambrose, founder of childcare agency Imperial Nannies insisted Meghan, 37, “is up to date on all the different options” and “knows exactly what she is looking for”. On the prospect of having a maternal nurse with the pair at their new residence in Frogmore Cottage, Ms Ambrose told PEOPLE: "They are specialists at looking after newborns and will teach the mother all about the care of her individual baby – they will then hand over to a nanny at a certain point, usually around the 3-month point.”

Ms Ambrose also stated the Sussexes may even shun royal tradition and choose a male nanny, which is more common in the US.

She said: "There was a trend for male nannies a few years ago, but it’s really the personality match that’s important.”

She added: “She’s worldly and she has a huge network of friends, many of whom have had children, so I think she will have been offered lots and lots of advice – it’s up to her which advice she takes!”
