Ivar (played by Alex Høgh Andersen) has faced many adversaries over the course of the past five seasons of Vikings.
However, one of his greatest nemeses remains King Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo), with the pair having gone head-to-head on many occasions during the previous seasons of the History and Amazon Prime series.
At the end of season five, Alfred had managed to keep his grasp of Wessex after a bloody battle which culminated in the death of Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and the disappearance of his ally, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).
Though, the reigning monarch could be about to lose his hold as the King clashes with Ivar once again in the upcoming season, with actor Ferdia Walsh-Peelo teasing the battle to fans of the historic drama.

With the 20-episode season set to return sometime later this year, wrapping up the Viking series, stars of the show have already shot the dramatic scenes.
However, King Arthur star Ferdia has been in the studio to re-record some of his dialogue as the intensity and vigour of battle sequences seemed to have drowned out his original speech.
Sharing the re-recording with his 90,000 followers, the actor can be seen donning a pair of headphones whilst retorting the script into a microphone.
The actor is heard exclaiming: “Come on and fight you coward, Ivar,” referring to the upcoming battle between the pair.
Captioning the video, Ferdia’s post reads: “‘Love screaming my head off in ADR for @historyvikings #class I have no voice anymore.
