Avengers Endgame isn’t just the fourth Avengers movie, it’s also the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the end of Phase 3 of the franchise and the conclusion to the Infinity Saga. The MCU is made up of three major narrative phases and earlier this year Feige revealed that Phases 1-3 will be known as the Infinity Saga, as original Avengers like Iron Man and Captain America bow out.
The assumption was always that the next film in the franchise, Spider-Man Far From Home, would be the first film of Marvel Phase 4 and the beginning of a new and currently untitled saga.
One that will see superheroes such as Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Doctor Strange head up the Avengers – even though most of them are currently dead.
However, if the existence of Spider-Man Far From Home is anything to go by, this won’t be their situation for much longer come the events of Avengers Endgame.
