Holidays on an all-inclusive basis appear to have every box ticked for some travellers. After booking their dream destination package, usually to a sun-soaked climate, they step foot off the plane for a vacation where practically everything has been taken care of. Yet after being taken to their hotel, the dream of forever free food, cocktails and all-inclusive living could be shattered. Experts from Scottish Trust Deed spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the hidden costs of package breaks and how to avoid them.
CEO David Baddeley branded it a “myth” that all inclusive trips meant holidaymakers would not have to save, or take, any spending money.
He said: “It is a total myth that if you have booked an all-inclusive holiday then you no longer must worry about spending money once you are there.
“Excursions must be accounted for as well as the prospect of leaving the hotel and not being able to return for lunch, for example.
“Every single year we will have a handful of customers that fall into this trap.
“They tend to forget that food and drink may be a major part of your holiday, but it does not account for the whole of your holiday.”
