Game of Thrones fans saw episode two air this weekend, and with it came a number of new character interactions.
Although Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) and Gendry (Joe Dempsie) spent a lot of time together this episode, Gendry’s family reveal was perhaps the most important.
While Gendry told the young wolf about his journey so far, he also let slip about his true parentage.
He explained that Melisandre (Carice van Houtem) revealed Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy) was his real father.
As fans know, this makes Gendry the current rightful heir to the throne, after Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) and Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman) died.
Although Arya initially brushes this information off, it could become hugely important once again in the upcoming episodes.
Currently not many people on the show know the truth about Gendry’s father, and it is fairly obvious he would like to keep it that way.
But with the truth about Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) royal bloodline on the brim of being announced in coming episodes, Arya may release this information sooner rather than later.
While Arya is not exactly the best at conveying politics, she surely knows the importance of Gendry’s bloodline.
