#CoronationStreet Jack Webster to receive a HUGE payout after sepsis chaos?

Jack Webster’s (played by Kyran Bowes) life was brought into disarray when he was affected by sepsis in Coronation Street almost a year ago.

He contracted the disease shortly after hurting himself playing football, however, the illness went unnoticed by medical professionals.

Various doctors and nurses dismissed his condition as anything serious and failed to diagnosis sepsis, despite him showing symptoms.

But when blotches began forming on his leg, he was rushed to the hospital and given the devastating diagnosis.

Unfortunately for Jack, it was too late and his father Kevin (Michael Le Vell) had to decide whether to have the limb amputated, which he chose to do.

A legal advisor from Patient Claim Line has since revealed Jack could pursue a claim for compensation due medical negligence.

If he were to win his case he could be awarded a multi-million pound sum, a representative for the firm told Daily Star Online.

They said: "Sepsis can be fatal and can start with something as simple as a cut or graze. Coronation Street did an excellent job last year at highlighting how even a graze might progress to sepsis with life-changing consequences.

"Sepsis can be really hard to identify and failing to do so doesn't always mean that the doctors have been negligent.”

Of Jack’s leg amputation, the advisor said: “[He will have] a lifetime of needs which the NHS can only do so much to meet.
