Viewers will remember the last time Daz (played by Mark Jordon) stepped foot in Emmerdale he was being railroaded out of the village because of Kerry (Laura Norton).
The concerned Geordie was convinced his attitude would eventually get 12-year-old Amelia (Daisy Campbell) in big trouble, and wanted to keep the child on the straight and narrow after a dicey year of running away and kidnap drama.
Amelia was devastated to say goodbye to her biological father on the ITV soap, but in the end everyone agreed it was for the best.
Tonight’s episode saw Amelia suffering from further heartbreak as she chucked all of Kerry’s belongings on the lawn of their cottage, and the beautician was struggling to cope with the huge change.
But there were two clues suggesting not only could Amelia be leaving the soap, but Daz could return soon too.
For one thing, with Kerry now out of the picture, Dan and Amelia might let Daz back into their lives for good, and he could even end up moving back in to the cottage and leaving his new life in Croydon.
While the likelihood of this is shaky given Daz recently accepted a brand new job, Amelia’s upset could be enough to convince her uncle to return so he can support her through this difficult time.
What’s more, as Dan tried to explain the nuances of his and Kerry’s situation to the youngster, she revealed she couldn’t see the village as home any longer and wished she’d taken up Daz’s offer to live with him when she had the chance.
“There’s just some things you’re too young to understand,” Dan said gently,
