Mark Labbett, 53, is a quizmaster on the ITV series The Chase, where he is faced with the challenge of going head-to-head with the contestants on the show. The star recently shared a post from his co-star Paul Sinha, after a fan questioned which Chaser the "strong teams" were given. In view of his 2,231 Twitter followers, Paul wrote: “For those that think the Final Chase structure always favours the Chaser, I answered 20 questions yesterday to their 18, and got battered 22-12.” One user then quizzed the Chaser about the team distribution process, suggesting Paul gets an unfair number of tougher contestants.
It read: “Do you think the stronger teams should be distributed a little more fairly among the chasers? Paul seems to get an inordinate number of strong teams - yesterday 29 cash-builder answers!”
The cash builder round sees contestants complete their one-to-one with the Chaser and if a contestant does well they make it through to the final chase.
But Mark did not appear to agree that his co-star gets the stronger teams on the show overall.
In view of his 110,000 followers, The Beast wrote: “The producers job is to make as many interesting matches as possible.
“In practice it translates as @paulsinha and myself receiving the teams averaging the best scores in cashbuilders and final chases most series. Though @jenlion faced monsters this series.”
