Tonight’s instalment of the ITV soap saw Emmerdale teacher Maya Stepney (played by Louisa Clein) try to sell her car in order to raise the money needed to pay off Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).
Liv is blackmailing Maya and Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) after she discovered their romance and is causing a rift between them.
As a Maya tried to flog her car, boyfriend David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden), who is also Jacob’s father, asked why she needed extra cash.
Maya lied and said she needed money to pay for her divorce fees and David lapped it all up and even offered to help her pay for them.
But as Maya confided in David and he offered to use his savings to help her move on, Jacob arrived home.
He demanded to know if Maya was okay but David snapped and told him to leave them alone.
The move didn’t go down well with Jacob who was later seen snapping at Maya for confiding in his dad and keeping him out of the loop.
However, Maya was unimpressed with his attitude and warned him to let her deal with Liv and David.
