Mr Yang was speaking to New Hampshire newspaper The Conway Daily Sun. The paper has a tradition of asking prospective presidential nominees about UFOs. Ahead of the 2016 election Hillary Clinton told the paper she thinks aliens may have already visited Earth.

Speaking to the paper Mr Yang said: “I’m very curious about UFOs.
“I have a feeling they probably do exist”.
Mr Yang has shot to attention with his controversial plan to give each US citizen over 18 years of age a universal basic income of $1,000 (£773) a month.
This would be paid regardless of whether the recipient is in employment or receives other welfare.
