Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander awkwardly corrects #EastEnders ...

Lucy Alexander, 48, who recently began fronting her own BBC show The Customer Is Always Right, took to Twitter to ask her fans to vote for her “beautiful friend” Tamzin Outhwaite, 48, for Best Actress at this year’s British Soap Awards. In view of her 24,600 followers, the former property expert retweeted a post from EastEnders' Mel Owen star, which read: “Last time I was in @bbceastenders there was no Twitter but I have been back in EE for one year and three months and I am delighted and surprised to be nominated for best actress at this year’s @SoapAwards. “You have one hour and 50 mins left to vote. So if you fancy, give all things EE a vote.” Lucy replied: “Please vote for my beautiful friend…#actress.”

Former EastEnders star Laurie Brett, 50, took the opportunity to champion the presenter’s post, as she retweeted her message on the micro-blogging site.

She then added the caption: “What she said!!!”

It seemingly appeared Laurie was unaware there was a time limit for fans to place their vote, and Lucy had to inform her: “Closed at 5 babes!”

The soapstar simply replied: “Oh…,” before the BBC host replied to her with a laughing emoji.

The Scottish actress is best known for her role as Jane Beale on the soap, where she made her debut in 2004.
