Climate change protestors Extinction Rebellion attempts to disrupt London have had little response from politicians as many were away for the Easter break. Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has had more successful, however, as she met with politicians yesterday discussing the country's climate change deterrent intentions. Labour MP Diane Abbot spoke to Extinction Rebellion protestors in Westminster and showed her support for the activist while the crowd waved “jazz hands” instead of clapping.

Ms Abbott began by saying: “The thing I wanted to say is I think you have done an amazing job drawing peoples attention to the climate emergency.

“I also want to say this, in all the noise and kerfuffle of Brexit the climate emergency is the most important issue facing us.”
