The plotter spent a year at Kingston University in south-west London between 2006 and 2007. According to the Daily Telegraph, Abdul Lathief Jameel spent a year on an aerospace engineering course at the university. Agents are now trying to ascertain whether he was radicalised in England or if he was already in contact with a terrorist group at the time.

A source told the Daily Telegraph: “We are looking at the timings of his stay in the UK and the significance of any travel here.

“We are looking at all his links.”

Kingston University declined to comment on the latest claim.

Jameel Mohamed died in the blast at the Tropical Inn as eight other explosions were felt around the city and the country.
