Despite being American, the Duchess of Sussex will likely not be present to meet Trump, due to being on maternity leave. Royal expert Duncan Larcombe said: “I’m told that there are no plans for Meghan to meet President Trump. Not as a snub because - how shall we say - it’s a quite convenient period of maternity leave, so she won’t be working."
He added: “The fact she’s on maternity leave obviously gives her an excuse.”
The President and his wife Melania will come fo a three-day visit to the UK as guests of the Queen.
They will meet senior royals as is tradition, but Buckingham Palace has not yet confirmed which royals will be in attendance.
However, a spokesperson said the Queen would welcome the President and First Lady.
