Jason and Greta Haynes suffer backlash in vaccination storyline? #HolbyCity

One Holby City star, Zoe Croft, has revealed her reasons for wanting to to cover a vaccination plot.

Zoe plays Jason Haynes’ (played by Jules Robinson) wife Greta on the BBC programme and both characters have autism.

There has been some controversy in recent years as there has been a rise in an anti-vaccination movement.

A study published by Dr Andrew Wakefield in 1998 suggested a link between the MMR vaccine and autism and it sparked concern among some parents - but the report has since been discredited.

Zoe has expressed an interest in the medical drama exploring the issue, especially considering Greta and Jason have a young daughter, Guinevere.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the actress explained: “I would love to cover a vaccine storyline.

“Obviously there was false information that vaccines cause autism which we now know is totally, totally not true.

“But especially, even people I’m friends with on social media are now starting to have kids and they’re saying ‘well, I’m not going to vaccinate my kids because there is no proof that it works and I’m worried about autism’ I think ‘oh my god, there is so much proof that it works’.”

She continued: “So I still think there is a really big issue of people not vaccinating their children so I would absolutely love to do a storyline about that because
